I featured the work of architect Chad Oppenheim in an issue on last November, but somehow the link to view it became corrupt. I felt his work important enough to run again. This also gave me the opportunity to update it with some of his projects from which I felt overwhelming visual excitement.

Wadi Rum Resort, Petra, Jordan-
In the sandstone city of Petra Jordan, Oppenheim Architecture + Design, was commissioned to design an 80, 000 square foot resort carved out of rock in Wadi Rum. The resort, which was scheduled to open in 2014, will feature minimalist rooms with stunning views over gaping canyons, water holes and sand dunes.
The 47 minimalist lodges that comprise the resort will be carved directly into the sandstone rock face. A luxury spa, featuring traditional local and international treatments, is also planned for the five star hotel.
